SONIKS — Network of Open Ground Research Complexes
This project offers free, open-source software and hardware platforms for establishing a network of satellite ground stations in schools.
The project's ambition is to establish a comprehensive suite of open technologies, adhering to open standards, for deployment in school stations across Russia, enabling the reception, processing, and visualization of data from spacecraft.
Key goals
With 50 ground stations installed in schools throughout various Russian regions, students will have the opportunity to schedule satellite observations, request data and photographs, and monitor spacecraft conditions.
The public can track the network’s operations, acquire new insights in the Encyclopedia section, and engage with peers in our forum.
